Before I start here are games I’ve tested this keyboard in over the past month:
- Valorant
- Overwatch
- R6 Siege
- Halo Infinite
- Destiny 2
- Minecraft
Build – (9/10)
Like many others the main inspiration for this buy was the looks and aesthetic of the board! The clear double-shot PBT keycaps with frosted tops both look and feel really good. Much smoother than some other boards I’ve tried but they still offer a good amount of grip and traction after a bit of use.
Underneath are the signature Fuji Dual-Rail Magnetic 36g Linear Switches along with PCB mounted stabilizers. Coming from someone who normally prefers tactile switches this keyboard has been a very good experience and super satisfying to use. Along with the fact that they’re prelubed, these switches offer adjustable actuation from 0.1mm to 3.8mm very similar to the APEX PRO TKL. Same with the rapid trigger feature. Lastly this keyboard has a very impressive weight for a 60% board and is at a very comfortable angle for me.
Looks – (8/10)
As mentioned previously the main reason I bought this keyboard was the looks. I’m a big fan of the keycaps and the undertone of purple from the switches as well as the aluminum frame. All together it looks very great with my setup and I’m very happy I was able to cop it. The only reason it isn’t a 9, 10 or even an 8.5 is because of the RGB. While having some fresh settings I’ve never seen like the pressure reactive lights, the actual RGB itself isn’t as impressive as some other boards I’ve used. Its hard to find a brightness that isn’t too bright or too dark for me personally and compared to things like the APEX PRO TKL, I generally had higher expectations for the RGB and this is the first keyboard where I’ve had it off most of the time.
Gameplay – (9.5/10)
First time using this board I had a couple issues with accidental presses and getting used to the actuation but after that its been relatively smooth sailing. Very impressed with every game I use it in and aside from the occasional movement stoppage whenever I’m playing, its been pretty good to me.
Overall – (9/10)
Very great keyboard for gaming, would’ve been a 10/10 if it had some more function keys and better RGB but other than that I can confidently recommend the POLAR65 of any variant to anyone and I’m very impressed. For $140 this is absolutely a steal especially if you don’t have the money for a custom build, and id say this is the best board you could buy for under $200 along with a WOOTING60HE.
If you made it this far thank you very much for reading my yap sesh and hopefully you enjoyed it or got some useful information.
