Top Five Mice for 2024

5. Waizowl OGM Pro V2

The only ergonomic mouse on this list, the Waizowl OGM Pro V2, takes the fifth spot. As someone who usually prefers non-ergonomic shapes, this mouse has surpassed my previous favorite, the Lamzu Thorn. Its rear-focused hump and claw-oriented design provide comfort for both gaming and productivity, resulting in less fatigue over long sessions.

The clicks on this mouse are outstanding. The transparent green shell with white dot switches feels crisp, tactile, and light enough for spamming. While I generally prefer blue shell pink dot switches, the implementation here impressed me. The side buttons, scroll wheel, and main buttons all perform excellently. The coating is slightly chalkier than the Razer Viper V3, making it more suitable for sweatier hands.

At 49g, the mouse is a bit back-heavy, but this is not noticeable during gameplay. The skates are well-rounded and provide good glide, though the adhesive could be better as the PTFE sometimes separates if not pressed on firmly. With an 8K dongle included, tasteful colorways, and great performance for its price, this mouse earns the title of “Ergonomic Mouse of the Year.”

4. Scyrox V6 and V8

Tied for fourth place are the Scyrox V6 and V8, both fantastic budget options at just $70. They come with an 8K dongle, a top-tier unboxing experience, and web-based software.

The Scyrox V8 is essentially a refined X2 Mini clone. It improves on the X2 Mini with better QC, clicks, coating, and weight balancing. At just 36g and without any holes, the V8 features tapered sides that encourage a claw grip, while the rounded hump feels comfortable and natural. The Omron optical switches in the V8 are lighter and more premium than those in the V6.

The Scyrox V6 is similar to the G-Wolves Hati S Plus but slightly longer and with a thinner grip width. Its 40g weight and safe shape make it a better choice if you’re unsure about your preferred mouse shape. Both mice share excellent performance and internals, so your decision should depend on which shape suits you better.

3. Ninjutso Sora V2

The Ninjutso Sora V2 lands in third place. This mouse gained popularity thanks to endorsements from players like TenZ and Shroud. Its thinner rear hump compared to the original Sora allows for a more relaxed claw grip, enhancing comfort and maneuverability.

The mouse’s wider front and natural thumb groove contribute to excellent hand positioning and micro-adjustments. While some users report a hollow feel due to the internal PCB design, I found the weight balancing to be exceptional. For a more detailed review, check out my in-depth article on the Sora V2.

2. Lamzu Maya X

Coming in second is the Lamzu Maya X, the larger and improved version of last year’s Maya, which was my “Mouse of the Year.” The Maya X features a thinner grip width, a shorter hump, and a slightly shorter length than the Razer Viper V3.

Improvements include a redesigned scroll wheel, more consistent middle click, and upgraded Omron optical switches for M1 and M2. Although I prefer the blue shell mechanical switches from the original Maya, the Maya X’s optical implementation is among the best I’ve used. At 47g, the mouse feels centered and balanced, making it a joy to use. The included 8K dongle and extra skates are great bonuses, and Lamzu’s stock skates are some of the best on the market.

1. Hitscan Hyperlight

My top pick for 2024 is the Hitscan Hyperlight. Inspired by the Viper Mini, this mouse makes subtle but impactful improvements to the shape, such as raising the sidewalls to enhance grip comfort.

The Hyperlight is designed for small to medium hands and features exceptional weight balancing, with a centered 37g design. While I initially encountered some inconsistency with M1, the issue resolved itself after a week of use. The side buttons are perfectly placed, and the skates are comparable to aftermarket options like the Xtrfy Pad Jades.

Although the 8K dongle is sold separately for $25, the total cost of $115 is well worth it for the performance offered. This mouse is what I consider a “Viper Mini killer,” making it a must-try for fans of the Viper Mini.

Honorable Mentions

The Endgame Gear OP1 8K deserves recognition for its ultra-low latency and excellent performance. However, I recommend avoiding the Frost Edition due to build quality issues and sticking with the black or white versions.

The Razer Viper V3 Pro also gets an honorable mention. While it offers excellent wireless performance and Gen 3 switches, the shape felt a bit too long for my liking. A scaled-down version could make this a perfect mouse for me.

That wraps up my top five mice for 2024. Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and feel free to share your favorite picks. Thanks for reading, and have the day you deserve!
