Hitscan Hyperlight - The Mouse Of Champions
The First Impressions:
Opening the box presents you with a solid shell mouse weighing only 39 grams. Finding a mouse with a solid shell that weighs this little is rare. It seriously impressed me when I picked it up out of the box; it was solid, had no creaks, and felt good and high quality. The unboxing experience was put together well, from being greeted with the mouse and dongle to the extra skates and the cable provided in the box underneath. It was compact, sleek, and well-executed, although there was nothing crazy about an unboxing experience.
Shape and Feel
To put it simply, this mouse feels great. It fits my hand well, which for having small hands is a rare find. It has a mid-hump design meant to fit more of a claw grip style but for the people with smaller hands, it is the perfect mouse to palm. With the mid-hump design, it allows for majority of grip styles to be able to hold it as its not to high of a hump that it negates or holds back palm grip users and allows for in my opinion a mouse fit for everyone. The mouse buttons are put in the perfect position where they aren’t too low that you accidentally press them down. The base of the moues is cut out to reduce weight whilst leaving room for full base skates and dot skates. It allows for easy clicks without having to move your hand. The scroll wheel is a bit lower than I would have hoped it to be, and it almost feels hard to use sometimes due to it being so low on the mouse, but it’s not the end of the world.
Build Quality:
This mouse is probably the most sturdy solid shell mouse around this weight that I have ever experienced it. It is quite perfect when it comes to the build quality and genuinely, it surprised me that they were able to get this mouse to weigh this little. While some people may associate light weight with it being cheap, but it’s quite the opposite, it feels high quality and well put together. The scroll wheel doesn’t feel wobbly, and the clicks are light but sturdy and don’t feel creaky in the slightest.
Performance:
The Hyperlight uses a fantastic sensor which is the Pixart 3395, and it provides a really solid tracking experience when it comes to performance. It provides a polling rate up to 8k HZ, which requires, sadly, an external dongle that you have to pay for, if you don’t buy the dongle; it provides up to 1k HZ. To be fully honest, most users will be perfectly fine with 1k hz and not need the extra dongle. Although, I do wish it was included.
My Honest Opinion:
I bought this mouse with my own money and genuinely have heard such great things about it from people that I wanted to give it a try myself. I have used mice with holes in them exclusively for over a year now, so to try a solid shell mouse was a new experience. I genuinely love this mouse and it has gone into my top rotation between it, the ULX and the Akitsu.
Despite the Hyperlight’s smaller size, as someone with smaller hands (17.8×10.11cm), I can confidently say this shape fits me perfectly with my palm grip, and I’m confident it will work for not only medium handed users, but for small handed users as well. If you so choose, it would be nice for a claw and even finger tip grip. Not to mention, the price of $89.99 is fantastic, and it genuinely beats out any mouse at its shape and weight at that price. It provides excellent value for its specs, and I was extremely pleased with this purchase.
I see why everyone recommends this to their friends, and I genuinely would, too.
