Ft. Gateron Jade Ruby, Gateron Jade Pro, Gateron Genty, Geon Raw HE, Gateron Jade Gaming, TTC Magneto AEBoards Raed HE A Thread I would like to first thank
for sending the Genty, Jade Gaming and Ruby switches out to me for feedback and review, I will be trying my best to share accurate thoughts about some of the hottest HE switches on the market right now.
Gateron Jade Ruby
On paper the Rubies share the same specs as the Jade Pro switches from Gateron however, these switches are noticeably better than them, let me explain. The overall material and spring weights are identical both featuring a POM stem, PC top and PA66 nylon bottom, the bottom out force is 50g but likely will feel heavier due to the longer 20mm spring. The main noticeable difference is the factory lubing, the factory lubing has made a major improvement in the sound and feel of the switch, if you have too much lube at the contact points of the stem and housing bottom out, then it would cause the sound to be more muted and less crisp. On the opposite, if there is little to no lube there, it would be a crispier louder bottom out. The issue with the Jade Pros were that they had inconsistent factory lubing causing them to not sound the same throughout, the Rubies here drastically reduces the inconsistencies and reduced the lubing overall which make for a cleaner, better typing feel. Each keypress is a crispier cleaner sound with zero rattling from the top housing, pretty tight stem wobble and not to mention, that beautiful sparkly top. These switches are also a limited edition switch that’s gone once they’re sold out, my major disappointment with the Rubies are the price tag, doesn’t cost that much to add sparkles man…
Gateron Jade Pro
Same specs as the Rubies but lubing is less consistent, every switch sounds slightly different with a lot of the switches overlubed (can vary from batch to batch of course). These switches also use a closed bottom housing, top housing rattle isn’t existent, and is the benchmark for most HE boards nowadays. They also sound very marbly and thocky which is what people like nowadays, a GREAT switch, I’m just nitpicking.
Gateron Genty
These switches feature a dual rail structure which means the stem wobble isn’t too bad, there is a lot of top housing chatter though for 2025 and I don’t recommend these because of that. There are some sort of silicone/rubber dampeners at the top out of the switch but not the bottom out which is weird as it’s advertised as a silent switch (it’s not silent), the factory lubing is alright and is pretty smooth but sound is similar to the KS20 but a tad quieter, not a great sound.
Geon Raw HE
These switches are one of the bests, featuring a RGB shine-through plastic for the best RGB performance, factory lubing is really consistent and feels buttery. There is no top out chatter and spring rebound feels amazing. It uses a semi closed bottom design with the bottom out contact point still at the stem which is actually quite smart, these switches sound more marbly and has a really nice thick clack.
Gateron Jade Gaming
Seems to be similar specs to the Jade Pros once again, these switches feature a dust proof stem design with a clear top housing, the lubing with these are pretty light and consistent, they have a higher pitched sound signature closer to the TTC Magneto switches but not as high pitched and plasticky, they still got some marbly goodness to them just not as much thock. The stem design makes stem wobble super minimal but I honestly don’t know what’s different and makes them “gaming”. If a more clacky sound profile is what you’re going for, these are an option to consider.
TTC Magneto/KOM
These switches come in 3 variants but let’s focus on the OG, they have a longer spring to create one of the snappiest returning switches in the HE scene which feel very satisfying, these switches are incredibly tight tolerance wise, like stem wobble. They offer a very high pitched sometimes even plasticky sound that isn’t everyones cup of tea (I like personally), they can be great in some foamier builds but if you are using minimal foams or dampening then it’s probably best to skip these. Performance wise I don’t actually know if they are better but they feel nice to game on. They have the BEST factory lubing in my opinion as almost all the switches feel identical and bottom out is so so crisp. Great switch, not for everyone.
AEBoards Raed HE
This is the most interesting ones on this list, and my personal favourite. These switches feature a housing, stem and instead of a bottom housing + spring, it has a rubber dome to imitate the feel of a topre/electrocapacitive keyboard. They have a little tactile feel due to the rubber dome but they are advertised as linear domes, imagine a glorified more quiet soothing membrane keyboard thats more responsive to type on. The weight for these switches are 45g with a 3.9mm travel which is real nice compared to the shorter travel in my opinion, these have zero stem wobble and almost zero rattle sound, it’s more of a tappy sound. Overall these are really fun to type on and use, they also are whisper quiet, so if you like quiet then this is for you
