OneOfZero Dart Series – Marcel

Finally, An ARTISAN Quality Deskapd – OneOfZero

Introduction

OneOfZero’s Dart Pad series offers a variety of mouse pads with different surfaces and speeds, available in two sizes: a desk pad variant (900×480 mm) and a medium variant (490×430 mm). Each variant aims to cater to different playstyles and preferences. Let’s break down the three versions: Control, Hybrid, and Speed.

Dart Control Pad

The Dart Control Pad is the safest option in the Dart Pad lineup. It delivers a speed best suited for tactical FPS titles without being too slow for tracking games. The surface has a traditional grainy texture that gives a bit of feedback both on the mouse and your skin.
It pairs less effectively with arm sleeves compared to the other variants. The Vancer sleeve provided the most consistent friction, while sleeves like Pulsar and Laser Skyn’s Performance sleeve offered a smoother experience.
In terms of feel, it is somewhat comparable to the Saturn Pro. If you’re looking for a reliable and familiar-feeling control pad, this is a strong contender.

Dart Hybrid Pad

Surprisingly, the Hybrid Pad is the fastest among the three. It has extremely low static and dynamic friction, offering little stopping power aside from the natural resistance from mouse feet or intentional pressure.
Despite the increased texture, it pairs excellently with all sleeves tested. No matter the sleeve, glide remained smooth and consistent, which is rare for textured pads.
Because of the texture, users should consider using full-size skates instead of dot skates—dot skates may result in the mouse base scraping the pad slightly. In terms of speed, it compares closely to a worn-down Raiden or Landa Blitz. It stood out as the favorite among the three due to its slick glide and consistent performance.

Dart Speed Pad

While the Speed Pad is marketed as the fastest, in its current pre-production state, it feels only marginally faster than the Control Pad. In fact, it felt surprisingly slow—likely due to the foam base causing static friction buildup. This issue has been acknowledged by OneOfZero, and future versions will feature a polyurethane base to solve this problem.
The updated base is expected to eliminate the unwanted static buildup and improve performance across various conditions, including high humidity environments. Once addressed, the Speed Pad should live up to its name and sit between the Control and Hybrid pads in terms of raw speed.

Base Quality and Pricing

All Dart Pads feature an extremely sticky polyurethane base that clings to surfaces without any added moisture or prep. The firmness ranges from firm to mid-soft, providing a solid balance between comfort and performance.
Pricing is highly competitive, with the medium 490×430 mm variant starting at $36, and the desk pad version priced at $60. Despite OneOfZero primarily serving a Canadian audience, shipping to the U.S. is still affordable, starting at around $10.

Conclusion

Each Dart Pad offers something unique: the Control for reliable, grainy feedback; the Hybrid for low-friction, speed-focused performance; and the Speed Pad, which promises better performance after its upcoming update. OneOfZero’s dedication to quality and value makes these pads a solid option for gamers looking for performance at a competitive price point.
