PMM S2P Review – Edgeless Beauty


Introduction


A few months ago, I reviewed PMM’s S1P and C1P pads. The S1P, although labeled a speed pad, felt much closer to a balanced control pad. PMM took that feedback seriously and introduced a brand new offering—the S2P.
This new release is not only a noticeable improvement in terms of speed and glide but also stands out as one of the first mousepads to adopt edgeless stitching, a growing innovation in the mousepad space.

Surface and Performance


The S2P measures 490×420 mm and features a mid-hardness base with a thickness between 4 and 4.5 mm. In terms of speed, it outperforms its predecessor with an average friction coefficient of 0.249, compared to the S1P’s 0.283.
This places it among other top-tier speed pads like the Artisan Raiden (0.23), Pulsar Hyperion (0.238), and QCK Performance Speed (0.247). The S2P hits a sweet spot—it’s fast enough to feel responsive and fluid, without being so fast that it becomes hard to control.
The texture and weave are very reminiscent of the Raiden. The surface provides some tactile feedback while remaining smooth, and the base yields slightly under pressure for controlled flicks. However, it doesn’t collapse under your hand, even with dot skates.

Cleaning and Humidity Resistance


One point to note is that the pad can be somewhat tricky to clean. While a damp microfiber cloth will remove most dust, some areas are harder to clean completely. That said, this had no effect on in-game performance.
Humidity also didn’t seem to affect the pad’s glide. It was tested across a range from about 30% to 65% humidity and maintained consistent performance.

Edgeless Stitching


What sets the S2P apart is its stitching—or rather, the absence of visible edge stitching. Instead of traditional sewn edges, the pad’s material wraps cleanly around the sides with no internal seam, removing the usual transition bump between surface and edge.
There were no durability concerns during three weeks of testing. The stitching remained firm with no signs of fraying or separation. It also improves comfort during arm movements across the edge—no more scraping or irritation from raised seams.
One minor tradeoff is a small amount of corner lift, which is consistent across all edgeless stitched pads due to tension from the wrapped material. This doesn’t affect gameplay but is worth noting if aesthetics or edge behavior matter to you.

Comfort and Desk Experience


The 4 mm thickness may be a bit much for users who place their arm on the edge of their desk. With long forearms and an arm-anchored aiming style, there was some discomfort during long sessions when the edge of the pad pressed against the skin.
This is less of an issue with traditionally stitched pads or when using an arm sleeve. For this reason, a larger size—such as 500×500 mm—would help tremendously by allowing the user to use the bottom of the pad as an anchor point instead of the desk.
This approach mirrors what works well with other brands’ edgeless pads, like Landa’s, which feature a softer base and larger sizing for a more forgiving experience.

Base and Stability


The S2P features a polyurethane base that adheres firmly to the desk surface. Despite its thickness, the extra weight helps it stay in place throughout intense gameplay. There were no issues with slipping or shifting.

Conclusion


The PMM S2P is one of the best speed-focused cloth pads available right now. Its surface offers a fast, controlled glide that remains smooth, responsive, and predictable—even in varied humidity.
The edgeless stitching is a welcome innovation, improving both feel and aesthetics, though its execution might benefit from a thinner or larger pad option to accommodate a wider range of players and desk setups.
For those seeking a premium speed pad that doesn’t sacrifice control, the S2P is a highly recommended option. A larger variant would make it even more versatile, especially for arm-aimers.
Overall, PMM has done a fantastic job addressing feedback and delivering a product that moves the needle forward in both design and performance.
