Unboxing & First Impressions

The Slice75 comes in a standard cardboard box and inside that is a nicer cardboard box with some sick art on it, then a plastic shell to keep it all closed. The unboxing is quite dope and is a nice fun experience, in the box there is a keycap switch puller, cable, tools, an extra ribbon cable and user manual. Overall the experience is very neat, anodization quality of the keyboard case is ELITE, smooth and extra high quality. Oh and the Slice75 is very hefty for a prebuilt hall effect keyboard coming in at 1.8kg.

Design

Simple box on wedge design with a rocky cracked surface weight at the back, glass piece displaying an art work on the inside located at the bottom right of the keyboard. Pretty standard 6.25u spacebar 75% layout with a cherry lip

Build

Top to bottom. Keycaps are white legended black alphas + grey accent keys which are made of a high quality, non shine through double shot PBT with clean legending. Switches are the infamous gateron jade pro’s which need no introduction seated on an aluminium switch plate. The Slice75 also utilises plate mount stabilizers which I don’t quite enjoy but they are tuned to perfection with no ticking at all on my unit. The plate is screwed with the pcb sandwiching what seems to be a cork plate dampener, ixPE foam, poron case foam underneath the PCB and a plastic sheeting at the very bottom of the case which I assume is to prevent shorting of the PCB, the assembly is then mounted onto the bottom case using silicone dumbbell gaskets which they call silicone bead mount. This keyboard also has a really nice feature which is the ball latch system for the top and bottom casing, gone are the days for screws screwing the top and bottom case together, now it’s just ripping the top off and pressing it back on.

Sound + Feel

Sound wise this keyboard barely sounds like HE, it has a poppier foamy sound signature and a tad marbly. There is however a very VERY small amount of case ping present and some areas of the keyboard has a little bit of hollowness present. Typing feel is definitely more on the stiffer side likely for performance reasons, but there’s just enough give to not feel fatiguing.

Performance & Software

THERE IS A WEB DRIVER FOR THIS KEYBOARD!!! I love web drivers as they are so easy to use without having to download a bunch of softwares, the Chilkey web drivers works flawlessly and is relatively easy to use. Snap tap, SOCD, RT etc all works flawlessly as intended and keyboard feels just as responsible as any other great HE keyboard releases.

Pros

+ Ball latch system, incredibly easy for customization

+ Great stock sound, probably the best in the game right now

+ Web driver

+ Case feels very premium, doesn’t feel like a cheap keyboard whatsoever

+ Closest to a custom keyboard grade HE keyboard we’ve gotten so far

+ Crazy good value

Cons

– I wish they could’ve provided more mounting options to pair with the ball latch system like the ND75

– Screw-in stabilizers

Conclusion

Hands down the Slice75 HE is the best hall effect keyboard in the scene as of right now. Everything from the value to the build quality and supported features, it literally feels like an expensive custom keyboard with crazy performance for $149 USD. If the keyboard didn’t use Jade Pro switches, and something like Owlab TI or Flux HE, it would be KILLER. I have almost no complaints with this keyboard and is the easiest recommendation of my life.
