Top 3 Best Gaming Mice Of The Year: My Personal Favourites
As we enter another fantastic year of new gaming peripherals, I would like to highlight the three gaming mice that stood out the most to me in 2024. Whether it’s their designs, performance, or shape, these mice truly deserve the spotlight in my personal list. Please keep in mind that this list is strictly personal and I do not consider these mice to be objectively better than others, but I consider them to be the ones I’ve enjoyed using the most.
Here are my top picks for 2024: the Hitscan Hyperlight, the Razer Viper V3 Pro, and the Finalmouse ULX Pro Tarik Tiger.
Hitscan Hyperlight: A Remarkable Debut
The Hitscan Hyperlight is a prime example of what a well-thought first release can achieve. Coming in at just 39 grams, it combines an ultra-lightweight design with a solid, hole-free shell, offering both durability and performance. What makes it special is its resemblance to the legendary Viper Mini shape but re-adapted: perfectly suited for small to medium hands with claw and fingertip grips.
The Hyperlight’s 8K polling rate capability, paired with great click implementation, ensures amazing latency and outstanding performance. While its optional dongle isn’t included in the base package, the Hyperlight still feels like a premium mouse for its $89.99 price tag. Hitscan has entered the market with a bang, and this mouse is proof they’re not messing around.
Razer Viper V3 Pro: Chosen by pros
Razer’s Viper V3 Pro takes everything we loved about the Viper series and makes it even better. With a redesigned shape featuring a more pronounced hump, it caters to all kinds of grips: palm, claw, and fingertip grip users who want additional palm support. Despite its 54-gram weight, slightly heavier than some ultra-light competitors, it stays perfectly balanced.
Equipped with the Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor and the ability to hit up to 8000 Hz polling rate wirelessly, the V3 Pro offers unmatched precision, responsiveness and consistency. The white textured matte coating feels superior compared to its black counterpart, providing exceptional grip during long sessions. With Razer being more in the mainstream market, I was happy to see this mouse replacing the Logitech G Pro X Superlight in the hands of several pro players in the games I love.
Finalmouse ULX Pro Tarik: My most used mouse of 2024
Disclaimer: I know that including this mouse will piss off some of you, but keep in mind that this is a personal list and that my ULX copy had perfect QC. If it had any issue, it wouldn’t be here.
The Finalmouse ULX Pro Tarik stands out not only for its functionality but also for its aesthetic. Its Huano blue shell pink dot switches provide crisp and satisfying clicks, while the new “ProGrip” coating offers excellent grip without the need for aftermarket grips. Although the increasing number of complains due to important issues with the coating, my unit has kept its paint perfectly intact throughout all the daily use.
Performance is absolutely great, the only side note I have about this mouse is the big polling rate scam, not because of the performance itself, but because of the 8k polling rate that never made it to release after being shown in the release trailer. In this case I can say the good outweighs the bad for me, because I have always been a huge fan of this shape, and I still consider it one of my favourites of all time, while not feeling the need to run 8k polling rate at all.
Final Thoughts
Each of these mice brought something unique to my table in 2024. The Hitscan Hyperlight impressed us with its debut, the Razer Viper V3 Pro delivered top-tier performance for competitive play, and the Finalmouse ULX Pro Tarik combined unmatched style and great comfort.
With the conclusion of this article, I would also like to thank all my followers for the amazing support I’ve received this year, and I’d like to wish all of you and your families a bright start of the new year.
