Owepowe Alita - The go to premium mousepad under 40$?

Today we look into the Owepowe Alita.

The design of the mousepad is inspired from American Comics art style which in my eyes is something different from what we’ve seen so far, it is unique but also a niche design that may appeal to others but the rest not so much.

The surface is fairly soft as it’s made of Nylon + Spandex and overall the surface felt nice and pleasant when going over it with my hand. With it also being 4mm thick it has this nice spongy feeling to it when pressing down, allowing it have the feel of a speed pad and the stop of a control pad, which in my case felt really nice but i’d label it as a balance pad from my experience.

Disclaimer: The mousepad was sent out to me by Owepowe, which won’t affect my opinion and thoughts on the mousepad.

Base - Polyurethane Foam

First glance at the base was super nice, a great design and had a superb feel to it. But with it being polyurethane foam, it may have it’s own issues being dependent on your tabletop. In my case there was no issues as it stuck to my table pretty well and having no issues with moving during longer gaming sessions.

Which may not be the case for everyone, as i’ve heard from others that at points the mousepad does happen to move around a little bit, as it was the case with one of my IRLs who also got to try the mousepad for a few days.

So definitely hoping Owepowe can take this feedback and possibly come up with a slightly more sticky surface that’s to be safe on all tabletops.

Test specification and aftermath

Time used: approximately 100 hours

Humidity: 49%-51%

Games played: CS2, Valorant, Overwatch and BF2042

Skates used: Ghostglide Cyclone Dots, X-Ray Obsidians & WLMouse Stock Skates

Mousepad felt great to me, especially during longer gaming session. Didn’t get the feel of inconsistency in performance even during high pressure moments, but as someone who doesn’t tense up during such situations i can’t speak for everyone as the base isn’t the most firm and it is a soft surfaced mousepad. So if you’re someone that has issues with tensing up during high pressure moments, i wouldn’t recommend it as it can cause performance issues in such scenarios.

Would i recommend it to others? Yes, absolutely as it is an insane value mousepad and has a high premium feel to it, being just under 40$. If you’re someone that isn’t into mousepads but still value your in-game performance and comfortability during long gaming session it is a really well rounded and safe choice for a mousepad.

If you’re a fan of the Hien Soft but looking for something that’s a little bit faster yet feels nearly identical this would 100% be the pick.
Would this mousepad be in the top list for cloth? Definitely, without a doubt. It feels and performs way beyond what i expected, taking into count the cost. This mousepad has insane endgame potential which is why i encourage people to give this a try.

Summary

  • Speed/Control pad (Balanced) with a unique surface.
  • Do NOT wash. Go over it with a cloth.
  • Humidity has near no effect on the pad.
  • Niche design so may not be for everyone.
  • Insane value for what you’re purchasing.
  • Little faster but better stopping than the Hien Soft.
