Overall Build Quality & QC

The build of the Hypace is light and rock solid, there is no creaking at the hump and rear of the side panels at all but a tiny bit of movement near the front of the sides if you REALLY squish firmly. There were no quality control issues with my unit and doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap at all.

Shape

This one will be hard to talk about but I’ll give it my best shot. In terms of the left and right grip, it feels like an egg shaped mouse similar to that of the Logitech G305, the Hypace is quite lengthy with the rear of the mouse touching the bottom of my palm in a claw grip, for fingertip it should be fine though. The hump is a mid hump setup with it leaning towards the rear slightly and doesn’t push into your palm which feels quite comfortable to grip.

Material & Coating

With a magnesium exoskeleton chassis on the inside and black transparent plastic on the outside, this thing is strong and light. Coating wise it has a bit of a texture that’s not all smooth but not at all rough, it feels like generic plastic with not much of an apparent coating. It doesn’t have a locked in feel so not very grippy, it doesn’t slip easily but it does slip in some drier occasions. Overall not the biggest fan of the “coating” but it isn’t a dealbreaker.

Mouse Buttons

Alright, time to talk money. Scroll wheel is quite narrow with the steps feeling quite obvious but not very clear crisp steps, the click is heavy and kinda difficult to spam which isn’t a huge deal either for my own use. The side buttons are placed a bit too high, I have to move my thumb up slightly to reach them, doesn’t affect me too much but it does need getting used to. The clicks for the side buttons are on the heavier side with basically zero pre travel and a tiny bit of post travel, side to side play is there but not obvious at all during normal use. The LMB and RMB clicks are the Kailh GM white blade switches which are really good actually, moderate weight, super crisp and spammable with basically no pre travel and super little post travel ONLY if you click towards the front of the mouse button, even then, the post travel is acceptable. Side to side play is also noticeable but very little amounts which doesn’t matter at all really.

Skates

The skates don’t come pre installed and you have to install yourself which I personally like. In terms of the skates themselves they feel really high quality and on the faster side, not jade fast but almost. They also feel quite nice to glide on and seem to be just the good ol PTFE.

Software & Performance
This mouse does have a web driver which is quite easy to navigate through and use, I love it when mice come with a decent web driver. The 3950 implementation here is just normal, doesn’t feel too fast or slow compared to other 3950’s, the click latency couldn’t be tested but is advertised at 0.125ms latency.

Conclusion

The Lofree Hypace has pleasantly surprised me. I never believed Lofree to make a mouse looking like this and actually be good. I don’t mind using this at all but I think it all comes down to the shape preference, some people will like it and some might hate it. I do think that the price is way too high though priced at $209 but luckily if you guys want one, it is on a pre order type deal for $109 which isn’t bad at all in my opinion and probably worth to pick one up to try, definitely a unique one which can be a hit or miss depending on what YOU like.
