Pwnage finally makes an introduction into the popular shaped mice frenzy, the Trinity CF is Pwnage’s take on the Viper Mini Signature Edition and a shot at it’s throne.
Technical Specifications:
▪︎ Sakura Samurai colourway (my unit)
▪︎ Solid sides ▪︎ 39g (my unit)
▪︎ XERO Sensor
▪︎ 8k wireless polling out of the box
▪︎ Omron Opticals
Clicks + Buttons
The omron optical implementation here was good but extra springy sounding for some reason. Clicks are moderately heavy and snappy with a fast rebound and no side to side play for the buttons, pre travel is almost non existent and post travel was very minimal, same here with the side buttons, they feel very good both in size + click feeling and the placement is elite. Scroll wheel steps felt clear but not loud and click is on the lighter end, the scroll wheel though, does shift towards the left and right when pushed leftwards or rightwards.
Shape + Skates
In terms of the shape, it oddly doesn’t feel exactly like a Viper Mini SE in hand, the hump feels higher and more in your face, the hump is more towards the rear when compared to the Viper Mini SE, it feels like a taller mouse overall. The skates are PTFE and are high quality with a medium speed.
Build Quality + Coating
The shell integrity is really good but there’s still flex on the hump of the mouse which requires more force than the ULX Competition, sides can ever so slightly flex when squeezed very hard and bottom does flex when put a moderate amount of force on. The coating of the mouse is on the slipperier side and oddly reminds me of the Viper Mini SE if it were plastic, I probably would recommend grips with it.
Extras
A special feature of this mouse is the adjustable sensor positioning to suit different grip styles and hand placements, it comes with the required screwdrivers to do so. The pyramid dongle has a little RGB projection which is a nice little detail.
Pros:
+ Option for both solid and cutout sides
+ Adjustable sensor
+ 8k wireless comes included by default
+ Great build quality with good QC
+ Nice colour options
Cons:
– Price. ~$150 USD with shipping/special colours – Coating is slippery
– Scroll wheel movement
Conclusion
Should you buy? Honestly, no. When theres other options out there like the ATK F1 Pro Extreme and especially the Hitscan Hyperlight, it just can’t compete ESPECIALLY when the Trinity CF is almost double the price. The mouse specifically itself is perfectly fine, it’s a good mouse.
Disclaimer: This mouse was NOT sent to me by Pwnage for review and purchased with my own funding. All thoughts are my own.
